New 296bhp petrol engine for Jaguar XE, XF and F-PACE

The Jaguar XE, XF and F-PACE can now be ordered with a new 296bhp Ingenium petrol engine.

The Jaguar XE, XF and F-PACE can now all be ordered with a new 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol engine which boasts 296bhp.

This new engine from Jaguar has become available about a month after the launch of a similar, 286bhp 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol engine for the Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Evoque.

The Jaguar version of this Ingenium engine has 10bhp extra and each car that is equipped with it can cover the 0-62mph sprint in six seconds or less.

In the F-PACE, the new Ingenium can propel the SUV from zero to 62mph in exactly six seconds and it also returns an official fuel economy figure of 37mpg.

Inside the Jaguar XF, the Ingenium engine can cover the 0-62mph sprint in just 5.6 seconds, while the car’s official fuel economy is rated at 40mpg and CO2 emissions are at 163g/km.

The Ingenium engine offers its quickest performance though in the XE saloon, where it records a 0-62mph sprint time of just 5.5 seconds. The official fuel economy for this car is also 41.5mpg and CO2 emissions are at 157g/km.

The executive director of product engineering for Jaguar Land Rover, Nick Rogers, commented: “We continue to broaden the range of our Ingenium engine family, giving customers more choice than ever before.

“This clean and more efficient engine perfectly complements the advanced lightweight aluminium body structure of our XE, XF and F-PACE models.”
