New all-electric Audi e-tron SUV now open for UK orders

The all-electric SUV starts from £71,490 and is available in two forms, while offering 241 miles of range and impressive standard equipment.

Audi has opened the order books for the e-tron SUV, with prices starting from £71,490 before the government’s plug-in grant.

Customers are able to choose from two options – e-tron and e-tron Launch Edition – and deliveries of the models will begin in April.

Order books were originally slated to open in November, but due to a software modification towards the end of development, homologation and orders were set back.

Fitted with a 95kWh battery that sends power to two electric motors, the e-tron has 402bhp at its disposal – allowing it to get from 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 124mph. It also has a range of 241 miles.

Standard features on the e-tron are, as expected, extensive, with a dual-touchscreen infotainment setup, digital instrument console, wireless smartphone charging, driver assistance systems, 20-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights all included.

A further launch exclusive option, the Edition 1, was also available for the last two weeks, but all 30 that were reserved for British customers have been allocated.

The Launch Edition version comes with 21-inch alloy wheels, wing-mounted cameras instead of mirrors that project images onto OLED screens in the cabin, a black styling pack, twin leather upholstery, a panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated seats, and a leather steering wheel – with additional safety systems also included. The Launch Edition costs from £82,240.
