New BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe teased

Expected to debut in November, the extended version of the 2 Series will come with four doors and will be based on the same platform as the upcoming 1 Series.

BMW has revealed the first teaser image of the all-new 2 Series Gran Coupe.

Expected to be unveiled at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show in November, the Gran Coupe will be built on the same front-wheel drive platform that will form the base of the next generation 1 Series that is also set to be revealed this year.

Set to go on sale in spring next year, this will be the first four-door version of the 2 Series, which has been in production since 2013 in its current form when it replaced the 1 Series Coupe.

The 2 Series range currently comprises of the two-door coupe, the Active and Gran Tourer MPVs and the convertible, as well as the M-modified M2 Competition.

This Gran Coupe is also expected to be joined by a larger 8 Series version also due to be revealed this year.

Details on the model are scarce at the moment, but expect it to be fitted with an efficient range of BMW’s TwinPower turbocharged engines, the latest BMW infotainment setup and the potential for an M version further down the line.
