New-look Alfa Romeo MiTo on sale in the UK now, priced from £12,960

The Alfa Romeo MiTo has received a facelift for 2016, with new looks, new trims and new engines, and it’s on sale in the UK now, priced from £12,960.

With a new honeycombed front grille, a revised rear bumper and new alloy wheels, Alfa Romeo says that the MiTo has been redesigned to mimic the appearance of the new Giulia saloon.

As well as that, the MiTo also now gets the option of a new Alfa White paint finish, plus new finishes for the centre console and dash, along with new Uconnect Live infotainment services.

New looks, new trim structure

Alfa Romeo has also completely restructured the MiTo’s trim options, with the previous entry-level Progression trim now replaced with a mode simply known as ‘MiTo’.

Standard equipment for the basic trim is generous, with 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning and Alfa’s DNA driving mode selector, plus a five-inch Uconnect infotainment system.

The mid-level Distinctive and QV Line trims have been replaced with Super and Speciale respectively, with the Distinctive model adding cruise control and larger 17-inch alloys, plus leather upholstery.

Upgraded infotainment system

Distinctive also adds aluminium sports pedals and a space-saver wheel, while the QV Line adds a sporty flat-bottomed steering wheel, darkened headlights and a carbon fibre interior finish.

The sportier look of the QV Line model is continued with sports seats and a sports instrument binnacle, along with rear privacy glass and racy-looking red brake callipers.

There’s no longer a Quadrifoglio Verde model, with the range-topper instead replaced by the Veloce trim, which comes with 18-inch alloys, Brembo brakes and an upgraded suspension system.

Wide range of engine options

Also included is an upgraded infotainment system with integrated sat-nav, twin chrome tailpipes and the option of carbon fibre bucket seats with Alcantara upholstery.

Engine options are wide and range from the tiny 0.8-litre TwinAir petrol engine to a 168bhp 1.4-litre MultiAir engine, which is available on the Veloce model with a dual-clutch gearbox.

Order books are open for the new Alfa Romeo MiTo now, with prices ranging from £12,960 for the entry-level MiTo to £20,500 for the range-topping Veloce model.
