New Sportline trim introduced to Skoda Enyaq EV range

The model helps to preview an even hotter vRS model that’s on the way

Skoda has revealed a new more aggressive-looking Sportline trim for its Enyaq iV electric car.

The Enyaq is the firm’s first bespoke EV and is based on the Volkswagen Group’s new MEB platform, with first examples set to arrive in showrooms in the middle of the year.

However, the Czech carmaker has now shown off a more stylish ‘Sportline’ model to the range. As seen across the brand’s other models, it brings a sportier look to the car, though also comes with a lowered sports chassis that should enhance the way it drives. It sits 15mm lower at the front and 10mm at the rear.

The model features a choice of large 20- or 21-inch alloy wheels, along with a host of black cues, including to the grille surround, front vents and mirror caps. Inside, the new trim benefits from sports seats with integrated headrests, along with a sports steering wheel and carbon-effect interior trim.

Two powertrain options will be available in the UK – the 80 and the 80X. Both feature an 82kWh battery, with the rear-wheel-drive 80 producing 201bhp, and the 80X’s additional front electric motor taking the power up to 261bhp. An electric range of up to 323 miles is expected.

UK pricing and full specifications are yet to be revealed, but will be announced in the run up to the model’s debut later in 2021.
