Vauxhall has revealed its new version of the Vivaro – which will come as with an electric powertrain from 2020.
To be built at Vauxhall’s Luton plant, the Vivaro is based on PSA Group’s EMP2 platform that also is the chassis for the new Peugeot 508 and Citroen Berlingo.
Priced from £21,240, the new iteration will be offered in three trim levels – Edition, Sportive and Elite – while dual-side sliding doors and cruise control with speed limiter come as standard.
Offered in two body lengths, 4.95m and 5.30m, there are also three body styles for the medium van – panel van, doublecab and a platform chassis.
The maximum cargo capacity of the model is 6.6m3, while the payload has also been increased over the previous model by 200kg, with to Vivaro now able to carry 1,400kg. The maximum trailer load has also been increased to 2,500kg – 500kg more than before.
See Available Vivaro dealsThe new Vivaro can also be fitted with automatic sliding doors for the first time, with users only needing to wave their foot near the sensors to access either of the side openings.
A head-up display is also available, while a front camera and radar systems support the lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, drowsiness alert, adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert and automatic emergency braking systems.
On Sportive and Elite options, Vauxhall also fits a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, smartphone connectivity and DAB radio.
Available to order from next month, the Vivaro will be delivered from late summer.
