NHS Northumbria gets fleet of 700 Jaguar I-Pace EVs

The premium electric SUV will be available to lease to staff across the UK.

Jaguar has teamed up with Northumbria NHS Foundation Trust to have a fleet of 700 Jaguar I-Paces – making it one of the largest electric car fleets in the UK.

The agreement with the healthcare provider’s NHS Fleet Solutions will enable public sector staff across the UK the opportunity to lease an I-Pace over a three-year period.

Employees will pay for the vehicles with a salary sacrifice, with the models available to organisations through NHS Fleet Solutions from April.

Sir James Mackey, chief executive Northumbria Healthcare, said: “We are delighted to be working with Jaguar Land Rover UK, this is a great deal for NHS and public sector staff and delivers genuine benefit to our patients.

“To have a fleet of cars that are fully electric demonstrates our on-going commitment to making decisions that reduce our impact on the environment and help us become greener.”

The I-Pace was launched in 2018 as Jaguar’s first electric car, with the model already proving to be particularly popular. Its 90kWh battery allows for an electric range of 292 miles.
