Nissan’s latest generation of the Micra hatchback is scoring an average 8.8 out of 10 on the Reevoo independent reviews site.

After being put on sale in March this year, the fifth generation has scored consistently well in Europe’s top five markets – with UK customers giving the hatchback an average score of 9.2 out of 10.

The high scores were paired with complimentary comments that commented on the equipment on offer with the Micra and how it drives – with praises for the engine and gearbox line-up also made.

Helen Perry, general manager of small cars for Nissan Europe, said: “We are thrilled customers love the expressive design and confident drive of the all-new Nissan Micra.

“Of course, there are elements we can improve and customer feedback is a key part of future product development. Comments are carefully analysed by our Customer-Oriented Engineering team, and the first upgrades to Micra will come in 2018 with a broader powertrain line-up. That will include the launch of an Xtronic automatic transmission and range-topping 120PS engine with a six-speed manual gearbox.”

Specifically designed and developed for European driver and roads, the latest Micra comes with safety systems to help motorists, such as blind spot warning and high beam assist.

Three engine options are on offer – a 0.9-litre turbo petrol that produces 89bhp, a 1.0-litre 70bhp petrol and an 89bhp 1.5-litre diesel – which are linked to a five-speed manual gearbox.
