Peugeot 108 gets new engines and equipment

Peugeot is enhancing the appeal of the 2015 108 city car with a host of new engines, paint jobs and equipment.

The Peugeot 108 city car is getting some updates for 2015 to keep it in the running against rivals like the Citroen C1, Volkswagen Up! and Hyundai i10.

On the engine front, the 108 gains new Euro6 compliant units, including a 1.0-litre 67bhp, 1.0-litre 2-Tronic 67bhp and a 1.2-litre PureTech 81bhp. The 1.0-litre 67bhp variant is the most efficient engine available, emitting just 95g/km of CO2, meaning it is road tax exempt.

With the 108 featuring equipment like a rear reversing camera, the city car has gained a reputation for good levels of kit. The latest additions to its safety kit enhances this reputation, with Active City Brake and Lane Departure Warning System now available. These safety features are available as an option on Allure and Feline grades.

Active City Brake helps prevent collisions in slow moving traffic by alerting the driver when a possible collision is detected – and it can do this at speeds below 20mph. The Lane Departure Warning System on the other hand is activated at 31mph and lets the driver know whether it is safe to change lanes – assisting with any blind spots.

When it comes to the exterior, Peugeot has added a new ‘French Blue’ paint job, meaning there are now a total of eight paint jobs to choose from. In addition to these eight different colours, there are also six new two-tone body colours to choose from, available on both three and five door models. The interior can also be specified with personalised colour as there are five colour ambiences to choose from.

Prices for the Peugeot 108 start from £8,345.
