Peugeot introduces new electric vehicle ‘signature’

The French brand will be unveiling a new Lion emblem at Geneva, which will be fitted to the manufacturer’s first EV to be released later this year

Peugeot has announced a new brand signature for its electric vehicles before it debuts a new EV-exclusive logo at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

The ‘Motion & e-Motion’ slogan is an adaption of the brand’s former signature ‘Motion & Emotion’, which will be used in conjunction with Peugeot’s first EV that will debut before the end of 2019.

The manufacturer says this new signature signals the start of its plan to provide a fully electrified line-up of vehicles by 2023 – and it will be joined by the new badge that will include blue and green elements.

Both of these will also accompany the company’s upcoming plug-in hybrid models – the 3008, 508 and 508 SW – which should debut by the end of 2019.

David Peel, managing director for Peugeot UK, said: “The ‘MOTION & e-MOTION’ signature we are rolling out really encapsulates our vision for what we want the brand to stand for. Adapting the signature we have been using for almost a decade demonstrates how we are a brand that is sticking to principle qualities Peugeot is known for, while evolving to fit with an electric future.

“We have already seen some great progress on our road towards electrification with the likes of the e-LEGEND concept car, and the year ahead promises to be even more exciting as we stick to our ‘MOTION & e-MOTION’ mantra.”

The Geneva Motor Show is open to the public from March 7 to 17.
