Peugeot Rifter named best MPV at UKCOTY

The new family vehicle has joined the other category winners to be considered as the overall winner, which will be announced March 1.

The Peugeot Rifter has been named the best MPV at the annual UK Car of the Year Awards.

As the category winner, the Rifter will join the other class winners in consideration for the overall UK Car of the Year title that will be announced on March 1.

This is the second title the Rifter has won this year, after collecting the CCT100 ‘MPV of the Year’ award in January.

The UKCOTY panel includes writers from publications such as Top Gear, Car and The Daily Telegraph – with each one picking their favourite in each category before deciding the overall winner in the separate classes.

Commenting on the Rifter, Matt Robinson of Car Enthusiast said: “Adding a dash of crossover style to the van-derived Peugeot Rifter makes what is a supremely practical and capacious MPV, much more palatable to the fashion-conscious family buyers who are in the market for this sort of thing.”

Managing director of Peugeot UK, David Peel, said: “To receive unanimous praise from some of the biggest names in automotive journalism, as we have seen with the all-new Peugeot Rifter, provides great encouragement for our work at Peugeot and the versatile leisure vehicle we have created.”

Prices for the Rifter start from £20,240.
