Prices and specs announced for updated Vauxhall Insignia

The facelifted model will arrive in showrooms in the summer

Vauxhall has announced pricing for its latest Insignia, which features refreshed styling and a revised engine line-up.

The popular large five-door arrives in showrooms in the summer priced from £23,120, and features styling inspired by the all-new Corsa – notably with its new ‘IntelliLux’ Matrix LED headlights.

Elsewhere Vauxhall has improved the safety of the model by introducing rear cross traffic alert, along with an improved reversing camera.

A slightly revised engine line-up also features, too, which includes a new 120bhp 1.5-litre diesel unit introduced to the Astra last year. A 172bhp 2.0-litre diesel unit is also available, with all diesel engines complying with the latest RDE2 emissions standards – making them cheaper in company car tax for business users.

On the petrol front, there is a 143bhp 1.4-litre unit, and a 2.0-litre available with outputs of 187bhp or 237bhp – the latter coming with all-wheel-drive and purely on the sporty GSi engine.

Five trim levels are on offer – SE Nav, SRi Nav, SRi VX-Line Nav, Ultimate Nav and GSi.

Standard equipment includes a seven-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with cruise control, dual-zone climate control, LED headlights and front and rear parking sensors to name but a few features.

SRi Nav, which is available from £24,620, adds sportier styling and LED interior lighting, while the SRi VX-Line Nav (available from £27,620) brings a larger eight-inch touchscreen, a Bose sound system, the aforementioned Matrix LED headlights, 20-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and start and massaging seats to name but a few features. Ultimate Nav models are priced the same and get much the same kit, but don’t feature the sporty bodykit of the VX-Line.

At the top of the range, the GSi comes with ventilated front seats, four-wheel-drive and a dedicated styling kit, with these costing a steep £38,350.
