Sketches of upcoming Skoda Kamiq released

The upcoming crossover will get fully unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March and is designed for the city.

Skoda has further teased its next SUV, the Kamiq, with two sketches showing the rough design.

The compact SUV follows in the footsteps of the Kodiaq and Karoq, and will get its full debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show on March 5.

Sharing a lot of similar design aspects to the other two SUVs in Skoda’s line-up, the Kamiq comes with split daytime running lights and headlights – a first for the Czech brand.

The Kamiq will also be the first Skoda to come with scrolling indicators at the front and rear, providing a more premium feel alongside the LED headlights.

The reduced proportions also carry many of the same body creases and details from the larger SUVs, such as the bold tailgate lines across the back and the small lip spoiler to end the roofline.

Skoda chief designer Oliver Stefani said: “In our new Kamiq city SUV we’ve implemented a completely new headlamp configuration. The two-part headlamps with daytime running lights above are a first for Skoda.

“They give the Kamiq a unique appearance and represent another interpretation of our successful SUV design language.”
