Skoda has updated its Superb hatchback and estate models for 2017 with new onboard technologies which enhance the cabin and driving experience. The updated models are on sale now.

One major new addition to the Superb range is the manufacturer’s Care Connect emergency assistant feature. It is now standard on Superb models from the Ambition trim upwards, regardless of which infotainment system is selected.

Care Connect allows the car to automatically call emergency services if a restraint system is triggered in an accident. It can also be used to manually call for emergency services via the press of a button.

Another tech feature added to the Superb is Skoda’s Connect App, which is now compatible with the large family car. The app allows owners of the Superb to interact with various features of their car through their smartphone. With the app, drivers can locate their Superb on a map and check if things like the doors and windows are locked.

The Superb’s infotainment systems have also been updated. The Swing system is now larger at 6.5-inches in size and comes with Smartlink+ smartphone integration as standard. The Columbus nav system is now also larger at 9.2-inches in size, which puts it more in line with other current Skodas.

New luxury driving features are added to the Superb’s options, including a massaging and ventilated driver’s seat, plus a Digital Voice Enhancement feature which amplifies the driver’s and front passenger’s voices to those sat in the back.

The Superb’s Park Distance Control sensors have also been updated to deliver better functionality and the ability to detect objects at the front of the car. It can also brake the car automatically if it detects a parking manoeuvre is about to end with a bump.

More cosmetic updates include the addition of a new 19-inch wheel option and a new metallic red paint finish. The range-topping Laurin & Klement trim version of the Superb gets new chrome strips on the side buffers and doors and black interior roof trim.
