SsangYong Tivoli prices and spec announced

SsangYong has revealed prices and specification details for its all-new compact crossover, called the Tivoli, which will rival against the likes of the Nissan Juke and Peugeot 2008. The Tivoli will start from just under £13,000 and arrives in Britain this summer.

From its launch the SsangYong Tivoli will offer three different trim levels, which are called SE, EX and ELX.

SE represents the standard trim level and is priced from £12,950. This means the Tivoli’s starting price is noticeably cheaper than the majority of other entries in the same segment, with the one major exception being the Dacia Duster.

With any of the trim levels the Tivoli also offers a choice between two 1.6-litre engines, one run on petrol and the other diesel. Both units use a six-speed unit and front-wheel drive powertrain as standard. EX and ELX trim versions of the Tivoli can optionally use a six-speed automatic ‘box.

Four-wheel drive specs are also available for these trims when picking the diesel engine. However, only the manual ‘box is available when choosing the four-wheel driven Tivoli in the mid-range EX trim.

The cheaper petrol unit produces 126bhp, giving it a 0-62mph sprint time of 12 seconds when using the manual gearbox, or 11 seconds with the automatic. The combined fuel economy ranges between 39.2 and 44.1mpg and CO2 emissions are between 149 and 167g/km.

Meanwhile, the diesel engine delivers 113bhp. The 0-62mph sprint times and combined fuel economy figures for the diesel version of the Tivoli has not actually been confirmed yet. However it is confirmed that with this engine the SsangYong can produce less CO2 emissions, with the output ranging between 113g/km and 156g/km depending on the choice of transmission and powertrain.

Standard equipment for the SsangYong Tivoli will include luxuries such as 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, stop-start engine technology and Bluetooth connectivity.
