Stuck for Xmas present ideas? Lamborghini offers driving lessons for £10,000 a pop

What do you buy for the millionaire who quite literally has everything? Well, for a mere £10,000 you can have two days’ worth of driving lessons with Lamborghini.

The supercar manufacturer runs a customer driving program at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where it offers an intensive driving boot camp to teach people to better handle its cars.

Customers can opt for a one day driving experience, which is essentially a test drive in Lamborghini’s two most popular models, the Huracan and the Aventador Superveloce.

Alternatively, you can extend that experience to two days where you’ll be coached by professional drivers, or opt for a full-blown race weekend with the Super Trofeo factory racing cars.

Lamborghini says that it uses the driving school experience to form a tighter bond with its most wealthy clients, with the hope that they’ll eventually go on to purchase a car.

The majority of students who attend the driving school already own at least one Lamborghini, but the manufacturer typically sells only around half the number of cars that rival Ferrari does.

However, the company also uses the experience to scout out the fastest drivers to recruit and swell the ranks of its various racing programmes.

As a result, for an extra £20,000, you can sign up for an ultra-exclusive two-day competition in the Super Trofeo cars, which includes your own personal pit crew and helicopter transport to and from the track.

Given the choice, we’d probably spend our £30,000 on something else, but then when you consider that’s about a tenth of the price of a brand-new Aventador Superveloce, it starts to look like a bit of a bargain…
