This is the new Honda Civic for 2020

Slight styling changes and trim level changes add to the Civic’s appeal.

Honda has announced a host of updated for its popular Civic hatchback, which includes a refreshed look and an improved infotainment system.

The 2020 Civic is only a slight facelift – it’s worth remembering that the latest model has only been on sale for a couple of years – but it’s headed up by a new look, which includes a revised front grille, new aero styling and the addition of LED headlights across the range as standard.

New 16-inch alloy wheels are available on the entry-level models, while the larger 17-inch rims can be painted in ‘Shark Grey’, too. A new Obsidian Blue paint colour also joins the line-up.

Honda has also made a number of changes to the cabin – notably to the infotainment touchscreen, which now features physical shortcut buttons. Honda says it’s done this “in response to customer demand”. Elsewhere in the interior the Civic is now available with new textured interior panels, while the range-topping models now benefit from an electric driver’s seat.

The Civic continues to be fitted with the same engines as before, with buyers able to choose from a 124bhp 1.0-litre petrol, a 179bhp 1.5-litre petrol and a 118bhp 1.6-litre diesel.

Expect a slight price increase over the current Civic’s £19,405 starting tag, though official pricing are yet to be unveiled. Order books will open in December, with first deliveries expected in January 2020.
