Top five premium features on 2018 Mazda CX-3

Mazda has recently updated its compact crossover for this year and we delve into the details to see what are the most premium features.

Despite starting under £20,000, the Mazda CX-3 has a surprising level of quality and is one of the better options in its segment.

Even from the base spec, the CX-3 comes with great equipment and with the updated version, there is a new layout and improved chassis setup, too.

We take a look at some of the stand-out features on the 2018 CX-3.

Improved chassis setup

To help make the CX-3 better to drive – even though it was a great model to drive anyway – Mazda has added new coil springs and dampers to improve the ride quality, a new front anti-roll bar has also been added for further stability through the corners. The Japanese brand has recalibrated the electric power steering as well for a further advancement over the last model.

Quality interior trim

In line with the brand’s Kodo design ethos, the CX-3 comes an excellently laid-out interior that includes high quality materials, such as leather, chrome and suede. All of the lines are sharp for a more modern feel, and all the features are easy to find – with the quality of the switches and features up to a higher standard than many of its rivals.

Top-end equipment

Although you may need to choose a higher trim level to get them, the CX-3 has an excellent selection of kit that you can add. Features such as the Bose surround sound system, a colour head-up display and leather upholstery all make the CX-3 a more interesting place to be. Rear privacy glass, climate control and parking assistance systems are also available for a more premium feel.

i-Activesense safety systems

With the lane departure warning, advanced smart city brake support, adaptive LED headlight, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert technology, you can make your CX-3 very safe indeed. Yes, those options can be costly, but they are worth the expense to ensure your safety on the road.

More engine choice

With the Mazda SkyActiv units under the bonnet, the CX-3 has a set of efficient engines that offer excellent responsiveness and a smooth drive. With a naturally-aspirated petrol and newly-introduced diesel to choose from, customers are able to pair them with both automatic and manual transmissions, as well as a four-wheel drive system if they choose.
