Just over a year after the second-generation model was released, Mazda has released details for the refreshed CX-5 SUV.
The update brings a revised powertrain line-up – which includes an automatic petrol option for the first time – and more safety assist systems.
Mazda has also increased the output of the 2.2-litre SkyActiv-D diesel engine from 173bhp up to 181bhp, while also improving the oil burner’s turbocharger and environmental impact with the introduction of a new selective catalytic reduction system and the AdBlue nitrogen dioxide reduction setup.
The 163bhp 2.0-litre SkyActiv-G petrol unit is now available with a six-speed automatic transmission as well as a six-speed manual. Both are mated to front-wheel drive.
Both trim levels – SE-L Nav+ and Sport Nav+ – come highly equipped, with all models featuring LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a DAB radio and satellite navigation.
Sport Nav+ models add a reversing camera, smart keyless entry, heated front seats and steering wheel, a power lift tailgate and a head-up display.

Sport Nav+ also get an optional 360-degree view camera and adaptive LED headlights.

Prices for the updated CX-5 start from £24,795, and will be on sale from the end of next month.
