Updated Volkswagen Caddy details confirmed

Volkswagen has confirmed pricing details for its updated Caddy line-up, which includes the Caddy Life, Maxi Life and Maxi Kombi MPVs. They are available to order now in Britain ahead of their launch this September.

Pricing starts at £15,600 for the Caddy Life, while the longer wheelbase Caddy Maxi Life starts from £17,985.

Based on the latest Caddy Panel van, the Life MPVs with the latest updates introduce new technology, safety systems and onboard luxuries. Whichever version you pick, all the Caddy MPVs are powered by a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine which offers outputs of 101bhp or 148bhp. The diesel includes fuel-saving BlueMotion technologies as standard such as stop-start, regenerative braking and low-rolling resistance tyres.

The 101bhp version of the diesel can offer the most efficient running costs, recording up to 65.7mpg combined and a CO2 output of just 114g/km.

As usual, the Caddy offers seating for up to seven passengers, and the two rear rows of seats can be folded, double folded or removed entirely. Maximum load capacity in the Caddy Life is 3,030 litres, while the Maxi Life (which is 420mm longer in length) offers up to 3,370 litres of loading space.

The spacious cabin now offers more luxury features than before. These add-ons include a new infotainment system with DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity and heated windscreen. New driving features, meanwhile, include cruise control and city emergency braking. The latter feature can stop the car automatically when an impending collision is detected by sensors when travelling at under 18mph.
