Vauxhall announces Corsa Griffin limited edition

The popular supermini is celebrating its 25th anniversary in the UK and this special run comes with exclusive features.

Vauxhall has revealed a limited edition version of its Corsa supermini that celebrates the model’s 25thanniversary in the UK.

Called the Griffin, the model comes with a selection of top-end features to distinguish it from the rest of the Corsa line-up, but costs from just £11,695.

Given mainly black detailing, the Corsa Griffin comes with 16-inch gloss black alloys, a black roof, door mirrors and grille bar, as well as tinted rear windows.

It also features Griffin badges on the front wings and branded door mats – with standard equipment also including satellite navigation, front fog lights, air conditioning, heated front seats, a leather-trimmed heated steering wheel and automatic lights, wipers and anti-dazzle rear view mirror.

Customers can choose from a range of body colours to complement the black detailing, as well as either a three- or five-door layout.

Under the bonnet is a 1.4-litre petrol engine, which can be rated at either 74bhp or 89bhp and can achieve 49.6mpg. It’s paired to a five-speed manual transmission.

The Griffin has been used on the Vauxhall badge since 1915, after Harry Varley – an apprentice at the Vauxhall Motors company – won a two guinea prize for designing a heraldic emblem, and chose the coat of arms of Fulk le Breant as his inspiration.
