Vauxhall has taken the covers off an all-new model that is aimed at families with an “active lifestyle”.

Called the Combo Life, it is based on the Combo commercial van, but it comes with a modernised exterior design and a series of safety systems, as well as the option of a five- or seven-seat layout.

The five-seat body is 4.4 metres long, while the seven-seat version is 35 centimetres longer to accommodate the two extra seats and still allow for considerable boot space.

In five-seat guise the Combo Life comes with 597 litres of rear storage space, while the seven-seater has an 850-litre boot.

The interior design is quite simple, with a central floating touchscreen, air conditioning and black trim the main features. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available, as is a heated steering wheel and front seats.

Safety features are plentiful with the Combo Life, and the model is available with automatic cruise control with speed adaption, a front camera system with sign recognition and lane keep assist, and forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking.

Driver drowsiness alert and a head-up display can also be optional.

The Combo Life also comes with IntelliGrip traction control, and advanced park assist with panoramic rear-view camera and flank guard – which helps the driver avoid objects at slow speed.

Vauxhall says that it will be available with a combination of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, which will be paired with a selection of manual and automatic transmissions.

More details of the vehicle will be revealed closer to the release date, which is yet to be confirmed.
