Vauxhall updates Corsa with cleaner engines and new tech

British firm’s popular supermini has been revised to meet tighter emissions standards, while gaining a host of new tech.

Vauxhall has refreshed its best-selling Corsa supermini to introduce new emissions-compliant engines and simplify the model’s line-up.

The firm has introduced a new 1.4-litre petrol engine, which is Euro 6.2 compliant, and can be paired with a five-speed manual gearbox or automatic transmission. This unit returns up to 50.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 130g/km in its cleanest guise.

The simplified trim line-up now comprises of seven grades – Active, Design, Energy, Sport, SRi Nav, SE Nav and range-topping SRi VX Nav Black models. All trim levels can be had with either sporty-looking three-door versions or the more practical five-door option.

Air-conditioning is fitted to as standard across the range now (with the exception of the entry-level Active trim) while the refreshed model now features satellite navigation and Vauxhall’s ‘Navi 4.0 IntelliLink’ touchscreen offered on all models from SRi Nav upwards.
