Volkswagen Arteon pricing details confirmed

Volkswagen has confirmed initial pricing and spec details for the new Arteon as order books open.

UK pricing and specification details have been announced for Volkswagen’s new flagship saloon, the Arteon, which starts at £34,305 and is available to order now. Described as a fastback by Volkswagen and featuring a coupe-like profile, the Arteon is the long-awaited successor to the CC.

The starting price will drop in the future when cheaper, lower powered specifications join the Arteon range. For now, the saloon will be offered with two trim levels and three engine options.

For the price of £34,305, customers can get the Arteon in the Elegance trim and with a 2.0-litre diesel producing 148bhp and hooked up to a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

Other engines include a more powerful 2.0-litre diesel with 237bhp which also comes with a DSG gearbox as well as 4MOTION all-wheel drive as standard. This is available from £39,170.

The other launch engine available is a 2.0-litre petrol engine with 276bhp and this also utilises a DSG gearbox and 4MOTION all-wheel drive. This is priced from £38,755.

The same engine choices are also available for the R-Line trim level which starts at £35,090 when using the 148bhp diesel, increasing to £39,540 for the 276bhp petrol and £39,955 for the 237bhp diesel.

Standard kit for the Volkswagen Arteon includes an eight-inch touchscreen with sat-nav, Bluetooth, an eight-speaker sound system and a Media Control app which allows for the infotainment system to be controlled via a smartphone. Safety features including adaptive cruise control, city emergency braking and drive alert fatigue warning system are also standard.

The options list features the likes of a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, a 16-speaker audio setup and 20-inch alloys to replace the standard 18-inch wheels.

Additional engines set to join the Arteon range in the future will include an entry-level 1.5-litre petrol unit with 148bhp, available with a manual or DSG automatic gearbox, as well as a 187bhp 2.0-litre petrol unit with a DSG mated to it as standard.
