World Car of the Year 2017 award winners announced

The winners of the 2017 World Car of the Year awards have been confirmed and it is premium car brands which dominate in most categories.

Taking the main World Car of the Year accolade this year is the Jaguar F-PACE, the British brand’s first production SUV which has proven to be quite a hit. The Jaguar beat two other SUV finalists, the Audi Q5 and Volkswagen Tiguan, to grab this year’s main prize.

That’s not the only success for the Jaguar F-PACE as it has also won the World Car Design of the Year category. The SUV managed to beat the Mercedes S-Class and Toyota C-HR to this particular accolade.

This year’s World Car of the Year awards were overseen by 75 jurors comprised of motoring journalists and other experts from around the world. The category winners were confirmed during the start of this year’s New York International Auto Show.
