Limited edition McLaren 675LT to cost £259,500

McLaren has showcased its limited edition 675LT model at the Geneva Motor Show, announcing that the model will carry a price tag of £259,500.

The McLaren 675LT is the latest addition to the brand’s Super Series and will be limited to just 500 units globally. Using lightweight technology, McLaren has managed to save more than 100kg in weight on the new 675LT, meaning it’s the lightest model in the Super Series range at 1,230kg. The same seven-speed SSG transmission is also utilised in the 675LT, featuring the familiar Normal, Sport and Track modes.

Underpinning the model is the same MonoCell chassis as the rest of the Super Series – however – the 675LT gets a unique set-up to the rest of the range. Following in the footsteps of the 1997 McLaren F1 GTR ‘Longtail’, the 675LT’s chassis has a wider track at the front and rear, widened by 20mm.

Other unique features of the 675LT include stiffened lightweight springs, 67 per cent stiffened at the rear and 27 per cent at the front. McLaren says that this allows for a 40 per cent improvement in downforce.

In addition to the standard 675LT model is an optional £5,090 Sport Pack, which McLaren had fitted on the model at the Geneva Motor Show. McLaren says this gives “greater focus on track driving”, with a titanium roll hoop, fire extinguisher and four point harnesses all included.

The new McLaren 675LT is available to order now, with first deliveries expected from July 2016.
