The Toyota Mirai is a Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV), a rear-wheel-drive sedan that runs on compressed hydrogen gas. It uses a fuel cell stack to combine hydrogen with oxygen from the air, generating electricity to power the motor, with its only tailpipe emission being water. The car offers a long driving range (up to an EPA-estimated 402 miles for the XLE trim) and can be refueled quickly, similar to a gasoline car (about five minutes)
