Citroën is aiming to help motorists reduce vehicle emissions and improve fuel economy by upgrading to a new model with the introduction of the 2017 Citroën Scrappage Scheme. The scheme is open to anyone with a vehicle more-than seven years old, providing you’ve owned the vehicle for at least 90 days.

What is the Citroën Scrappage Scheme?

Citroën are offering customers potential savings of between £1,600 and £6,400 on brand-new Citroën cars across their range. The scheme runs until 31st December 2017, so there’s still plenty of time to take advantage.

The potential saving of £6,400 is off a selection of new Euro-6-rated petrol or diesel cars when you trade in your old model. The Citroën Scrappage Scheme runs until the end of December 2017 and is available if you trade in any petrol or diesel car from any brand registered before 31 December 2010.

With the Citroën Scrappage Scheme you could potentially save up to £6,400 off a new C3 Picasso and up to £5,000 off popular models such as the C4 and C4 Cactus.

This offer covers almost all current Citroën passenger car, ranging from the Citroën C1 city car to the New Citroën C3 Aircross Compact SUV. You can trade in any car make or model.

Citroën Scrappage Scheme 2017: what cars can you trade in?

In order to be eligible for the Citroën Scrappage Scheme the vehicle you are trading in must be:

  • Registered by the 31st of December 2010.
  • Owned by you for at least 90 days.

What happens to your old car?

All qualifying vehicles signed over as part of the Citroën Scrappage Scheme will be permanently taken off the road and scrapped responsibly, in conjunction with current legal guidance, by Citroën’s recycling partners, CarTakeBack™.

When does the Citroën Scrappage Scheme end?

Citroën’s Scrappage Scheme has been extended until 31st March 2018 and to receive the contribution, you have to have register your new Citroën by 31 March 2018 to qualify. If you are interested in a Citroën scrappage deal you will have to act quickly.

The Citroën Car Scrappage Scheme could potentially be extended beyond this initial period, depending on how popular it proves to be.

  • Car savings shown are for eligible Citroën Scrappage Scheme customers only, are inclusive of VAT, and reflect customer savings against the manufacturer's recommended OTR price.
  • On The Road prices include VAT where applicable, delivery, vehicle first registration fee, number places and 12 months’ road fund licence.
  • Van savings shown are eligible Citroën Scrappage Scheme customers only, and are exclusive of VAT.
  • These savings are only available to eligible customers who trade in a qualifying vehicle first registered in the UK before 31st December 2010.
  • The V5C of the part exchange address needs to match the new vehicle invoice and must have been in the current owner’s possession for a minimum of 90 days.
