Earlier this week, Bentley officially unveiled its all-new Bentayga, the marque’s first ever attempt at making an SUV.
Make no mistake about it, though; despite a couple of rugged additions and a raised ground clearance, the Bentayga is all Bentley. There’s a 600bhp W12 engine, a choice of 15 types of bull leather and, oh, a solid gold Breitling clock.
Machined from a choice of either rose or white gold, this puffed-up timepiece is automatically wound by a complicated high-precision winding system integrated into the car. Customers can also select a face made from either mother-of-pearl or black ebony, and it’s topped off with a total of eight diamond indexes.
What’s more, it can be all yours for an estimated cost of around £100,000, apparently. On top of the £160,200 you’ll have to fork out for the Bentayga itself, that is. That’s roughly 10 Ford Fiestas for the same price as one clock.
But while Bentley has made a name for itself by offering super-luxury options to the super-rich, it’s not the only manufacturer to do so, and there are plenty of others who have done the same.

What you actually get: If you thought the Huayra’s carbon fibre option was expensive, the La Ferrari’s will make your eyes bug out of your head. Just the rear diffuser alone costs £160,645, but the carbon fibre snout tops the list at a total cost of £216,040.
