Buyer’s guide to the Range Rover Evoque

Considering buying a Range Rover Evoque? Here's our guide...

First introduced in 2011, the Range Rover Evoque continues to be one of the most stylish, luxurious and straight-up cool offerings in the premium SUV segment.

There’s a wide range of tech available too, along with a great choice of efficient engines. Want to know more on the Range Rover Evoque line-up? Here’s our guide…

What powertrains are available?

A number of efficient engines make up the Range Rover Evoque’s powertrain offerings.

Starting things is a 2.0-litre eD4 unit, delivering 48bhp and 380Nm of torque to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. This returns up to 48.7mpg and 154g/km of CO2 depending on trim level selected.

Following that is a 2.0-litre TD4 option. This develops 178bhp and 430Nm, and is available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a nine-speed automatic option, plus the choice of four-wheel-drive or front-wheel-drive. Depending on specification, it can manage up to 46.3mpg and 160g/km of CO2.

Finally, a 2.0-litre Si4 petrol unit is available. This produces 237bhp and 340Nm, sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Trim depending, it can return up to 34.4mpg and 188g/km of CO2.

What trim options are in the range?

Kicking off the Range Rover Evoque’s trim line-up is SE. As standard, it features rain-sensing windscreen wipers, front and rear parking aid, ambient interior lighting, carpet mats, 18-inch alloy wheels, power folding and heated door mirrors and grained leather eight-way electric front seats.

Building on this, SE Tech brings Xenon headlights with automatic high beam assist, satellite navigation, a heated windscreen and perforated grained 12-way electric front seats. Next up, HSE Dynamic adds a panoramic roof, a Corris Grey grille surround, a Meridian 380-watt surround sound audio system, a 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment system and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Topping the range is HSE Dynamic Lux. This builds further on HSE Dynamic with Park Assist, a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitoring, keyless entry, a hands-free tailgate, lane keep assist and a 825-watt, 16-speaker Meridian system.

What about personalisation options?

Those looking to bring their own edge to their new Range Rover Evoque have a choice of 12 colours. A large variety of dark greys, blues and black are on offer for the more understated look, though those wanting to catch the eyes of passers-by can opt for the bold Firenze Red.

Six interior choices are available too — namely Ebony, Almond/Espresso, Cirrus/Lunar, Ivory/Ebony, Lunar/Ivory, Pimento/Ebony and Vintage Tan/Ebony. Further still, there’s also six interior trim ‘finishers’ to choose from — Satin Brushed Aluminium, Dark Satin Brushed Aluminium, Textured Aluminium, Dark Sport Textured, Gloss Black Strata and Figured Macassar Wood.
