2017 Honda Civic UK pricing confirmed

The new-generation Honda Civic hatchback will start from £18,235 when it goes on sale in the UK from late March.

Full pricing and specification details for the new Civic in Britain have finally been announced by Honda and the starting price is similar to the previous Civic. But whereas higher trim models for the last Civic reached just under £25,000 with their starting price (not counting the Type R), the higher spec models for the new Civic reach up to nearly £27,500.

Engines include a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol unit with 127bhp and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 179bhp. Both engines are available with either a manual or CVT automatic gearbox.

Seven trims in total

The new Civic hatchback, which will be produced at Honda’s UK plant in Swindon, begins its range with the entry level S trim. This carries the £18,235 starting price tag when using the 1.0-litre engine and manual gearbox, but the price increases to £19,635 when swapping to the CVT instead.

Next in the Civic trim line-up is the SE grade which starts from £18,335 with the 1.0-litre petrol and manual ‘box, or £19,735 with the CVT. That’s followed by the SR trim which is priced from £20,180 with the 1.0-litre and manual powertrain or £21,580 with the CVT.

There’s also the EX trim which starts at £23,040 or from £23,640 with the optional Tech Pack.

The Sport trim is the cheapest trim to use the 179bhp petrol engine and it starts from £22,470 with the manual gearbox or £23,870 with the CVT. There’s also the Sport Plus model which starts at £25,335, or £26,730 with the CVT.

Topping the new Civic’s range is the Prestige trim which starts from £26,085 or from £27,480 when using the CVT.
