2017 Renault Scenic and Grand Scenic Pricing Confirmed

Renault has revealed UK pricing and specification details for its new Scenic and Grand Scenic MPVs, which will launch just before the end of 2016. A hybrid variant has been confirmed.

Renault has confirmed UK pricing details for its new Scenic and Grand Scenic MPV ranges. The MPVs will go on sale from the start of this December and first deliveries are expected just before the end of this year.

The regular, five-seater Scenic is priced from £21,445 while the seven-seater Grand Scenic starts at £23,375.

Petrol and diesel engines from launch, hybrid coming in spring

Engines in the range include two turbocharged 1.2-litre TCe petrol units offering 113bhp and 128bhp respectively.

There’s also two 1.5-litre diesels and a 1.6-litre diesel producing between 109bhp and 158bhp. Many diesel specifications can swap the standard manual gearbox for a EDC automatic ‘box. The 109bhp diesel with the manual ‘box records 72.4mpg combined.

During spring 2017, the new Scenic and Grand Scenic line-ups will add a diesel-hybrid variant. Combining the 109bhp diesel with a 48-volt battery, the Scenic hybrid emits just 92g/km in CO2 and records 80.7mpg combined. Unusually for a hybrid, a six-speed manual gearbox is used.

Four trim levels to choose from

The Scenic and Grand Scenic are available in four trim levels, starting with Expression+ and followed by Dynamique Nav, Dynamique S Nav and Signature Nav. Standard equipment for the new Renault MPVs includes automatic headlights, a leather steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, heated mirrors, Bluetooth connectivity and a touchscreen infotainment system.

Renault also says that its new Scenic and Grand Scenic are the only cars in their class to come with an active emergency braking system and pedestrian detection as standard.

Go for the Dynamique Nav trim and the Scenic adds more kit such as sat-nav, front and rear parking sensors and a drive mode selector with settings such as Comfort, Eco and Sport.

The Dynamique S Nav trim includes a larger 8.7-inch portrait touchscreen, a rear parking camera and a panoramic sunroof.

Signature Nav models feature leather upholstery, memory seats and swaps the standard headlights for new LED headlights with front fog lights.
