Audi has opened the order books for its latest version of the RS4 Avant, with prices starting from £61,625.
Fitted with a 2.9-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces 444bhp and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive, this is the fourth generation of the souped-up mid-size estate.
This added performance over the standard model means a 0-60mph time of 3.9 seconds and a limited top speed of 155mph, although that limit can be removed with the dynamic sport package which raises the top speed to 174mph.
The Audi Sport department has given the handsome estate a dynamic makeover with 19-inch alloy wheels, honeycomb detailing on inlets and front grille and wider wheel arches. At the rear it gets a spoiler, oval tailpipes for the RS exhaust system and an RS-specific diffuser insert.
The exclusive Nogaro Blue exterior body colour shows off the contrasting black detailing.
To complement the quattro all-wheel drive, Audi applies sport suspension and a rear torque differential, with dynamic ride control, dynamic steering and sport suspension plus available as optional extras.
Two trim options are available from launch – the standard RS4 and the Carbon Edition – and both come handsomely equipped. Carbon Edition models have a starting price of £71,625.
Inside it comes with an all-black trim, RS sport seats, a flat-bottomed leather steering wheel and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit display. Optional extras include honeycomb stitching on the seats and other trim colour options with the help of Audi’s exclusive programme.
All models also get cruise control with speed limiter, parking system plus, and both the multi-collision brake assist and pre-sense city brake assistances.
Deliveries for the RS4 Avant will start early in 2018.
