BMW has revealed the latest version of the smallest M car, which is now fitted with the engine found in the M3 and M4.

The M2 Competition has a twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine that produces 404bhp and 500Nm, which means a 0-60mph time of 4.0 seconds and a limited top speed of 155mph – that can be raised to 170mph with the optional M Driver’s Package.

It is available with either a six-speed manual or dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission.

This model replaces the standard M2 that has been on sale since 2013 and with it is a revised design to make it even more aggressive than ever before.

With a new front skirt and enlarged air intakes, the M2’s looks are more dynamic, and those are paired to the newly-installed sculpted M-mirrors, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and quad exhausts.
