Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi has announced pricing for the new Shogun Sport – which is being revitalised following 12 years away from the UK line-up.
The new seven-seat SUV will have a starting price of £36,905 when it goes on sale in the spring, sitting between the Outlander and Shogun models in the range.
Coming in two trim levels – 3 and 4 – the Shogun Sport will only come with one engine – a 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine that produces 179bhp and is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and selective all-wheel drive system.
The Super Select II all-wheel drive system can switch between two- and four-wheel drive when required and is part of a host of features to help make the Shogun Sport suitable in most conditions. It is combined with hill descent control, trailer start assist, hill start assist and an off-road mode for top-end off-roading.
The base 3 trim level comes with leather upholstery, LED headlights, taillights and daytime-running lights, dual-zone climate control, reversing camera and sensors, privacy glass and keyless entry with button-push start. Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity are also included as standard.
In the top spec 4 model, Mitsubishi adds heated front seats, an upgraded 510kW sound system and wide-range of driver assistance systems – such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, blind spot warning, a 360-degree camera and a mis-acceleration mitigation system that puts the brakes on if the driver is likely to hit an obstacle while at slow speed.
That trim has a starting price of £38,905, and Mitsubishi offers three metallic colours, pearlescent red and solid white for the bodywork.
The Shogun Sport will go on sale in the spring.
