2019 Bentley Continental GT Convertible revealed

Bentley has pulled the covers back on the new Continental GT Convertible in all its open-top glory.

The third generation Continental GT C focuses on delivering the pinnacle of drop-top luxury, without the drawbacks usually associated with the convertible body style.

The firm has made sure the convertible variant of the popular grand tourer stays on par with its coupe sibling. It’s now 20 per cent lighter and five per cent stiffer, with the cabin as quiet as the previous generation coupe model.

The GT C features a unique Z-fold roof, which offers a three-decibel noise reduction. Plus, for the first time, there is now a contemporary tweed roof available. It can retract in 19 seconds, allowing the driver to enjoy open-top motoring.

As with all cars bearing the Bentley badge, there is no shortage of luxury and prestige to be found. The GT convertible is designed, engineered, and handcrafted in Britain from the ‘finest materials,’ says the brand.

There’s no shortage of performance either. The 626bhp W12 engine is capable of launching the Continental from 0-60mph in just 3.7 seconds, and it’ll go on to a staggering 207mph.

Full prices are yet to be announced, but it’s likely the GT C will start somewhere over the coupe’s £159,100 price tag. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2019.
