2019 BMW X3 M and X4 M revealed

High-performance option joins stablemate SUV line-ups.

The M treatment has come to the X3 and X4, with BMW today unveiling high-performance variants of both SUVs.

Utilising a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine, both cars boast an impressive 503bhp in Competition form — which will be the only option available to UK buyers. A 476bhp option will be available in other markets.

Along with 600Nm of torque, power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. BMW says it’ll send the X3 M from 0-60mph in an impressive 3.9 seconds in competition form.

To help keep this power under control, both cars benefit from some chassis tweaks. New front and rear subframes have been fitted, along with more bracing across the front suspension for increased stiffness.

Helping mark the M models out from the rest of the X3 and X4 range are 21-inch alloy wheels, along with a unique exhaust system and M compound brakes. There’s also redesigned front bumpers and side skirts for both cars, along with the fitment of a roof spoiler. Competition-spec also brings black gloss trim highlights around the car.

Priced from £77,070 and £79,990, the BMW X3 M and X4 M are now available to order.
