2020 Mini Countryman facelift unveiled

The latest version of Mini’s compact SUV features more efficient engines and new tech

Mini has revealed the facelifted version of its popular Countryman crossover, which gains light styling tweaks and additional interior technology.

The second-generation Countryman arrived in 2017, and has now received a light update that mirrors changes seen on the new Mini Hatch and Clubman estate. These include the cool Union Jack-inspired LED rear lights, while LED headlights are now fitted as standard. You can also upgrade them with adaptive and matrix LEDs, which both offer improved vision while also avoiding dazzling other road users.

Elsewhere, new colour options include White Silver metallic and Sage Green metallic, while buyers can choose to dechrome the Countryman with the ‘Piano Black Exterior’ option. This sees gloss black trim replace the chrome around the lights, grille and door handles.

The engine choice remains the same as before, with two petrol variants, a diesel and a plug-in hybrid available. However, Mini has worked on improving the efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions with the introduction of particulate filters on petrol Countrymans and AdBlue on diesel models.

When it comes to the interior, the Countryman gets a new digital instrument cluster, as seen on the Mini Electric, while new connected services have been added thanks to an integrated sim card. This allows for an emergency call service, which is where you can contact Mini directly through the car, or the emergency services if you’ve been involved in an accident. New interior customisation options are available as well – including Chester Indigo Blue and Chester Malt Brown

The revised Countryman is priced from £23,500 and is available to order now.
