2020 Skoda Fabia revealed with a whole lot more kit

Upgraded model available with optional Black and Comfort packages

Skoda has enhanced the level of equipment available for its Fabia ahead of the 2020 model year.

The hatchback saw a refresh in 2018 which brought a new front fascia, optional sharp LED headlights and taillights plus a whole host of new safety tech — and now it’s been taken a step up.

Two new option packs have been made available, namely Black and Comfort. The former can be had on all models except Monte Carlo and takes inspiration from that range-topping trim.

It brings a black grille to the Fabia, along with wing mirror caps and alloy wheels finished in the same colour. A choice of 15- or 16-inch wheels are available, while the package also adds LED taillights and the choice of a black roof to complement the rest of the styling enhancements.

Comfort package brings both safety and, well, comfort items to the car. Though not yet confirmed which Fabia grades it will be available for in the UK, it adds Light and Rain Assist — effectively automatic headlights and wipers — plus parking sensors at both the front and rear of the car. Heating elements for both front seats are included too, along with heated windscreen washer jets which help prevent wiper fluid freezing in the winter.

Rounding out the list of upgrades is an updated keyless entry system, which features a new motion sensor in the Fabia’s key fob. It reduces the potential for theft by deactivating its radio signal if it is not moved for 15 minutes — though immediately reactivates once motion is detected.

No word yet on pricing or availability for the updated 2020 Skoda Fabia range, but expect to hear more soon.
