2021 Peugeot 3008. What’s changed?

2021 Peugeot 3008. What’s changed?

Peugeot has updated its popular SUVs for 2021, so we look at the updates

Peugeot is a brand that has undergone a complete transformation in recent years – becoming more upmarket, stylish and advanced in only a short space of time.

And the model that has been instrumental to this change has been the mid-size 3008. Once an MPV and a bit of an ugly duckling at that, it evolved in 2016 to become a sleek premium option that ranked above many cars in this class.

To make sure it remains at the top of its game, Peugeot is back with a heavily revised model for 2021. Here’s a look at what’s changed.

Latest ‘Claw’ design

Peugeot debuted a radical ‘Claw’ design with its 508 back in 2018 – essentially seeing a large horizontal line drooping from the main headlight, and served as both a daytime running light and indicator.

The same design has since featured on the new 208 and 2008, and it’s arguably the most prominent update on this facelifted 3008.

Other changes you’ll notice include revised bumpers, as well as a frameless front grille and new LED headlights that are now included as standard.

New ‘Black Pack’ customisation

The 3008 is already one of the most stylish cars in this class, but buyers can now take things up another level with a new ‘Black Pack’. Available on the top-spec GT and GT Premium models, it brings a stealthier look thanks to a host of cues.

Highlights include black 19-inch alloy wheels, a satin black Peugeot badge, gloss black roof and lower trim to name but a few highlights. It certainly helps the 3008 to stand out further from the crowd.

New ‘Night Vision’

Peugeot debuted ‘Night Vision’ on its 508, and now it’s making its way onto the 3008 – being the first model in this class to get this innovative feature.

Essentially what Night Vision does is see obstacles and hazards that you wouldn't normally be able to spot. These include pedestrians, animals and cyclists, which are displayed on the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and can be spotted from up to 200m away, which is far more than typical headlights can display.

Safety technology has also been improved elsewhere thanks to a new adaptive cruise control system with lane positioning assist, along with an enhanced autonomous emergency braking system that can now work at speeds up to 86mph.

New touchscreen

The 3008 was already equipped with an excellent touchscreen, but new models now come with a larger 10-inch unit. Coming with piano black switches, it helps to increase usability further and give the cabin a more premium look.

A superb 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is also included, too, and along with a small steering wheel, which helps to create the ‘i-Cockpit’ that Peugeot is renowned for.

New range of trim levels

As part of this update, Peugeot has also rejigged the range of trim levels on offer, with new ‘Premium’ versions now available across the range.

New grades include Active Premium, Allure, Allure Premium, GT and GT Premium.

Like before, the 3008 is available with a range of powertrain options, including petrol, diesel and a choice of plug-in hybrids that can travel for up to 40 miles on a single charge. The updated Peugeot 3008 is now on sale, with prices starting from £27,160.
