Jaguar’s latest SUV, the E-Pace, is full of some of the latest pieces of tech developed by the British brand and can be seen as one of the more exciting options in the compact premium SUV market.
But what pieces of kit should you try to get on your E-Pace if you choose to go for the all-new model? We take a look…
Touch Pro infotainment system
As with most cars nowadays, touchscreen central screens are an essential to run the car and its various features. The 10-inch touchscreen system in the E-Pace comes with a multi-touch setup, meaning you can pinch-and-zoom on the satellite navigation, as well as being able to have a split-screen view. It can also be used as a TV screen to watch programmes or films on-demand. The central screen links to optional screens for rear passengers, which come with wireless remotes and headphones. For use of the DAB radio and music offerings, Jaguar fits a Meridian surround-sound system for one of the best speaker setups in its class.
Head-up Display
It may be common place on many cars now, but head-up displays are a useful way of knowing your speed, satellite navigation directions and other useful info without taking your eyes off the road. The transparent display has the relevant information projected onto the windscreen and that means drivers can concentrate on what’s ahead, rather than looking down at the driver display.
Interactive Driver Display
Having said that, Jaguar’s interactive driver display is one of the leading systems on the market and combines easy-to-read graphics into a 12.3-inch LCD display. With the driver able to select what is viewed on the screen at any time, the display can show 3D maps, vehicle settings, contacts, conventional dials or media options – with all of that being controlled from the multi-functional leather steering wheel. Sure, other premium rivals have a similar solution, but the Jaguar version is one of the top dogs.
Wearable technology solutions
If you’re the kind of person that lives an active lifestyle and would rather not have keys jangling around in your pockets, the E-Pace comes with a useful option – an activity key. Rather than having to find a place for what can sometimes be a bulky keyring, the wristband key is waterproof so you can take it wherever your adventures take you and still drive away. You can also download the Jaguar InControl app to your smart watch so that you can check the vehicle’s status and other details, such as fuel levels and locate where your car is.
Wi-Fi and USB charging points
As people are more reliant on staying connected and having their handheld devices charged at all times, it was only fitting for Jaguar to cater the E-Pace to offer both. The compact SUV therefore has multiple USB points to charge phones, tablets and other equipment, as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot with a 4G connection – meaning you can stream music, videos and other content with ease. That means people are less likely to get bored on long journeys and people can stay in touch.
