Abarth celebrate booming sales at Geneva

Abarth will be showing-off its complete line-up of vehicles at the Geneva Motor Show this year, including its new ‘smallest supercar’ the Abarth 695 Biposto, in celebration of its booming sales figures.

In 2014, Abarth, the sporty subsidiary of the Fiat brand, saw a huge boost in sales over the previous year, with its 6,869 sales representing a 12.2 per cent increase in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In the UK alone, Abarth saw a 21 per cent increase in sales over the previous year, displaying the growing demand for its mini sports cars.

Aside to its sales figures, Abarth is also celebrating the fact that it is supplying engines for the ADAC Formula 4 race series in Germany.

On show at Geneva will be the brand’s entire current line-up, which includes the 138bhp Custom model, 158bhp Turismo, 178bhp Competizione and the new 187bhp 695 Biposto.

With a low weight of just 997kg and a punchy the 1.4-litre turbo engine, the 695 Biposto hot hatch is capable of completing the zero to 62mph sprint in less than six seconds and going on to a top speed of 143mph. The 695 Biposto also has the best weight/power ratio in its class.

Deliveries of the new 695 Biposto have recently started and there is a lot of hype surrounding the model, earning it the ‘smallest supercar’ nametag.

Fiat is well-known for its popular accessorises, and the Geneva Motor Show will deliver in this department as its Abarth stand will come equipped with kits for visitors to admire, with everything from clothing accessories to tune-up packages.

The 2015 Geneva Motor Show will be taking place from the 5 – 15 March.
