Aston Martin Vanquish Red Arrows Edition swoops in

Aston Martin has revealed another special edition model based on the Vanquish S supercar. The latest car is the Red Arrow Edition which like the name suggests is based on the RAF’s iconic Red Arrow jets.

The exterior of the Vanquish S Red Arrow Edition is finished in the same Eclat Red paint job as the famous jets. The design also features side strips finished in blue or white, which is a reference to the distinct smoke trails which Red Arrow jets usually create. The Vanquish also features a roof pattern which is meant to reflect the canopy of a fighter jet.

Inside meanwhile, the Red Arrow Edition’s interior is finished mostly in the same green colour found on the flight suits of Red Arrow pilots. The rear seats are also gone and have replaced with a stowage area for two crash helmets with Red Arrow motifs, along with race suits and bespoke bomber jackets.

Other interior updates include Red Arrow formation graphics on the doors and seats and a new steering wheel derived from Aston Martin’s One-77 hypercar. The wheel is paired with a bespoke centre rotary toggle switch inspired by aviation instrumentation and switchgear.

Mechanically, the Red Arrows Edition is no different to a regular Aston Martin Vanquish S, meaning it's powered by a 592bhp V12 engine that lets it cover the 0-62mph sprint in just 3.5 seconds.

Just ten examples of the Vanquish S Red Arrows Edition will be made and only nine of these will be sold to customers. That’s fitting in a way since the formation used by the Red Arrows comprises of nine jets. The one model that won’t be sold will be gifted to the RAF Benevolent Fund.
