Audi A8 Edition 21 celebrates two decades of the A8

Audi has revealed an exclusive new limited edition version of its flagship A8 saloon, the Audi A8 Edition 21.

Created to celebrate 21 years since the A8 first went on sale, just 121 examples will be manufactured for the UK, with prices starting from £72,525 and first deliveries expected this November.

Based on the regular Audi A8, the A8 Edition 21 is available in both standard and long wheelbase variants, with a range of additional exterior and interior enhancements to boost exclusivity.

Sporting redesigned bumpers on the front and rear, it also comes with pronounced side sills and adaptive LED headlights as standard, plus 20-inch double spoke alloys with a titanium-look finish.

Inside, Audi’s designers have fitted it with an exclusive interior design package available in either cognac brown with black stitching or black leather with contrasting red stitching.

Front sports seats which automatically adjust to the driver’s favoured position and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel are included as standard, along with illuminated Edition 21 sill plates.

All Edition 21 models also come with Audi’s full suite of infotainment technologies, which include in-car Wi-Fi connectivity, integrated sat-nav and a BOSE surround sound system.

Driver convenience features include a reversing camera, a power-operated boot lid which allows owners to open the tailgate hands-free, along with powered doors which automatically close.

Power comes courtesy of a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel V6, which produces 258bhp with 580Nm of torque, linked to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system.

Audi says that this can propel the A8 Edition 21 from 0-62mph in a mere 5.9 seconds before heading to an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph. Euro 6-compliant, fuel consumption clocks in at up to 47.9mpg, with CO2 emissions of as little as 155g/km.
