Due to a high level of interest, the Audi scrappage incentive has been extended until the end of March.

The scheme involves the exchanging of pre-Euro 5 diesel vehicles for a discount on a new Euro 6 car, and was originally set until the end of December.

Customers are able to exchange vehicles from any manufacturer and the scheme has been running since September. All of the vehicles used in the trade are taken off the road and scrapped to help reduce toxic emissions. The vehicle handed in must have been registered before January 1, 2010, to be eligible for the scheme.

All Audi vehicles are available except the A8, Q7 TDI, R8 and RS models, with discounts of up to £8,000. The A3 Sportback e-tron – the only plug-in hybrid model Audi currently sells – is available with a £7,500 discount when you factor in the government’s £2,500 electric vehicle discount.

The Q7 e-tron has the largest discount, while the A6 and A7 ranges are available with £7,000 off the standard road price.
