Bugatti unveils LEGO Technic Chiron model

The complex and detailed model goes on sale today and is a 1:8 scale replica of the world’s fastest production car

Hypercar manufacturer Bugatti has teamed-up with toy producer LEGO to create a 1:8 scale model of its latest car – the Chiron.

As part of LEGO’s highly detailed Technic series, each Chiron kit comes with a personalised serial number – which allows customers to access special content on the LEGO website – and a special box, as well as a ‘coffee table’ collectors book.

Measuring 14cm high, 56cm long and 25cm wide, the finished article comes with intricate features, such as a fully-functioning eight-speed gearbox with paddle shifters, a key-activated rear wing – like in the standard road car – and the car’s iconic W16 engine with moving pistons.

It comes finished in the Chiron’s launch colours – the dual-tone blue colour scheme – and a set of stickers to complete the badging and designation.

The kit comes with 3,599 pieces for assembly and costs £329.99 on the LEGO website. On sale on the site today, other retailers will begin sale from August 1, 2018.

Niels B. Christiansen, LEGO Group chief executive officer, said: “I am very excited about this new model. Our LEGO designers have done an amazing job capturing the details of this iconic Bugatti design.

“It truly stands as testament that with LEGO bricks you can build anything you can imagine, and an example that with LEGO Technic, you can build for real. It’s a huge model that I can’t wait to start building myself. I’ve always been passionate about engineering and this model’s details and design are truly fascinating.”
