Citroen C1 range updated for 2018

The French supermini is looking to maintain its standing in the market with new tech, engines and two special editions.

After being unveiled in its current guise back in 2014, Citroen has revealed an updated C1 supermini range, with the French brand offering two special editions from the outset.

Citroen has provided a new version of the 1.0-litre, Toyota-engineered, VTi petrol engine – now producing 71bhp.

The 2018 version of the compact model will now be available with speed limit recognition system and the latest adaption of Citroen’s Mirror Screen system, which allows drivers to use Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link on the seven-inch central infotainment system.

Citroen is also employing the brand’s Advanced Comfort concept, which gives the C1 quoted improved sound-proofing, suspension and driver comfort.

Available to order now, the Elle and Urban Ride special editions have joined the C1 line-up – with both offering different looks.

The Elle version comes with badging to represent the women’s magazine, as well as unique design options, such as the grey upholstery with cherry pink detailing, anodized pink dashboard and decals. It is based on the top-end Shine trim, and with that you get a reversing camera, multifunction steering wheel and Bluetooth – with the Elle model also getting the Safety and Auto AC packs.

For the Urban Ride edition, Citroen used it as a design exercise to show how customisable the C1 was and with this special version, there’s blue bodywork with orange detailing, black alloy wheels, anodized blue dashboard and orange trim, as well as all the equipment provided with the Shine trim.

Prices for the Elle model start from around £13,000, while the Urban Ride edition has a starting price in the region of £12,600.
