Volvo has introduced the sporty R-Design trim to the V60 range to add a new dynamic edge to the mid-size estate.
R-Design fits in between the entry-level Momentum and top-end Inscription specs, and is distinguishable thanks to its gloss black detailing, sharper body creases, diamond-cut 18-inch alloy wheels and LED front fog lights.
Even the chassis setup is different to other V60s, as the R-Design gets sports-tuned suspension with stiffer spring rates and faster-responding dampers, as well as a lower ride height.
Inside, customers will find a sportier theme too, as Volvo fits sports pedals, a leather sports steering wheel, sports seats with partial leather upholstery and cushion extensions, and metal inlays.
Equipment levels are also up to a high standard, with the V60 coming with a portrait nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch instrument display, two-zone climate control, powered tailgate, automatic headlights with active high beam and Volvo’s City Safety safety systems.

Additional equipment can be added with the Pro upgrade, which features 19-inch alloy wheels, tinted rear windows, active bending headlights, Keyless Drive, a heads-up display and heated seats. It’s a £2,250 price hike over the standard R-Design equivalent.
Five powertrain configurations are available, with the D3 and D4 diesel engines offered with both manual and automatic transmissions, while the T5 petrol unit is only available with the eight-speed auto.
Prices for the V60 R-Design start from £35,410, with models available to buy now. Deliveries will begin before the end of the year.
