Facelifted Ford Kuga on sale now

The facelifted Ford Kuga SUV is now on sale for British customers and starts from £20,845. First deliveries are expected to take place just before the end of this year.

As well as featuring new styling, including a distinct chrome grille, the updated Kuga also adds a 1.5-litre diesel engine and Ford’s latest SYNC 3 infotainment system.

The exterior, which takes some cues from the latest Ford Edge and Ecosport, includes self-adjusting bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights and a power-operated tow bar that stores itself when not in use.

New tech and engines

Changes to the interior design include a new electronic parking brake and a less cluttered feel thanks to a reduction in the number of buttons laid out. The new SYNC 3 infotainment system onboard can work with the navigation system to direct the driver to the nearest and most appropriate facilities based on simple commands such as “I need petrol”.

SYNC 3 is also compatible with various apps like Spotify and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The new diesel engine is a 118bhp 1.5-litre TDCi connected to a front-wheel drive powertrain. It officially returns 64.2mpg for fuel economy and CO2 emissions are at 115g/km.

Other engines for the facelifted Kuga include a 2.0-litre diesel with 148bhp or 178bhp and a 1.5-litre Ecoboost petrol unit with 118bhp, 148bhp or 179bhp. The 118bhp Ecoboost is the cheapest engine in the Kuga line-up.

While the trims start with Zetec, customers can upgrade to the Titanium spec from £24,245, while the ST-Line starts at £25,845. The flagship premium Vignale version of the facelifted Kuga is priced from £30,795.
