The Mitsusbishi ASX crossover has gotten a slight nip and tuck ahead of the new year, with sleek new looks and new trim options.
First unveiled at the Paris Motor Show earlier this year, the newly-revised ASX is now officially available to buy in the UK, with prices kicking off from just £15,999.
The most obvious changes to the car include a revised front end which is now more reminiscent of the larger Outlander SUV, along with a new grille, front bumper and foglamp surrounds.
New looks, new finish options
Mitsubishi has also added the option of a new Lightning Blue finish, and has also updated the interior with new cushions for the seats and fresh upholstery.
The trims have been made more straightforward with a choice of four different options, starting with ASX 2 as the entry-level model, along with ASX 3, ASX 4 and finally the range-topping ASX 5.
Standard equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels and air conditioning, plus a leather steering wheel, Bluetooth phone connectivity and a USB port with iPhone compatibility.
Starting price £15,999
Opting for the ASX 3 trim, which starts from £18,349, adds larger 18-inch wheels and automatic climate control, plus keyless entry, cruise control and DAB radio, plus a reversing camera.
ASX 4, priced from £24,249, features four-wheel drive as standard and also includes leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof, plus a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system and sat-nav.
Finally, the range-topping ASX 5 trim starts from £26,949 and comes with a range of luxurious features like Nappa leather upholstery, premium carpet mats and heated rear seats.
Optional four-wheel drive
ASX 5 also includes a power-adjustable driver’s seat, twin USB charging ports in the rear and LED interior lighting along with four-wheel drive and will be available from January 2017 onwards.
The updated ASX carries over the same engine range as the pre-facelifted version, which includes a choice of a 115bhp 1.6-litre petrol, a 112bhp 1.6-litre diesel and a larger 2.2-litre diesel with 148bhp.
Four-wheel drive is an option on both diesel engines while the larger 2.2-litre diesel gets an automatic gearbox as standard, while the smaller diesel can reportedly return up to 61.4mpg.
